Nothing can be better than freshly made dishes using local ingredients from around the Garden State! On June 21st through the 28th, Landmark restaurants Stone House at Stirling Ridge and The Ryland Inn will be participating in Eat Drink Local week, an event presented by Edible Jersey. The event celebrates local farmers and purveyors and asks New Jersey Chefs to create unique, seasonal dishes using locally-sourced ingredients.
Executive Chef Anthony Bucco of the Ryland will be serving a three course special dinner using the finest NJ ingredients. The first course, called Taste of the Garden, will feature fresh herbs and flowers straight from the restaurant’s new onsite garden along with local peas and a summer truffle vinaigrette. Guests will really enjoy the second course, Barnegat Light Tilefish, served with fava beans, hay-smoked fingerling potatoes, Mangalitsa Pancetta, and fresh clams. For a sweet finish, guests will love fresh NJ Strawberries and Cream. Delish!
At Stone House, Chef Jerry Villa will also be cooking up some amazing dishes! Guests will start their meal off with a Mesclun Salad with ingredients straight from Stone House’s Dancing Goat Farm. The real treat is the second course, Seared Mangalitsa Pork Tenderloin, served with fresh spinach, garlic scape pesto, home-made potato salad and speck-pork jus. To top off the meal, guests will enjoy local Jersey Strawberries with a limoncello custard.
