Who doesn’t love the start of the fall season? The cool, crisp air, the changing of the leaves… need we say more?! This month, Liberty House Restaurant is stirring up some delicious cocktails using Laird’s Applejack, a premium blended brandy that uses tree-ripened apples to create a unique – and utterly delightful – taste and aroma. Believe it or not,┬áthe Laird family has been producing applejack for over 300 years and is the first commercial distillery established in the tiny community of Scobeyville, New Jersey. It is a fall staple and has grown in popularity since its humble beginnings in the late 1700s.

While Liberty House regulars love the Jersey City Smash, a specialty cocktail made with Laird’s Applejack, mint, fresh lime sour, ginger beer and angostura, many guests are puzzled when trying to recreate their own versions of the drink at home. That’s where the need for cocktail classes came in!
